2025 Debbie Rice Memorial and ALET Member Scholarships 
 
Debbie Rice Memorial Scholarship

The $10,000 college scholarship is awarded by ALET each year in honor of Debbie Rice, a long-time leader in the organization who served as the Technology Director for Auburn City Schools until 2014.

 
ALET Member Scholarship for High School Seniors and Current College Students

A $5,000 college scholarship is awarded to the child of an ALET member annually. High school seniors and current college students are eligible.  A parent of the student must have been a member as of September 30, 2024 in order to apply.
  • High school students wishing to be considered for the ALET Member Scholarship should complete the ALET-Debbie Rice Scholarship application and check the box that a parent meets the ALET member requirement. 

  • College students should download and complete the ALET Member Scholarship application.
 
Rules:
  • Individuals are not eligible for more than one ALET scholarship. Past winners of either scholarship should not re-apply.

  • If a student whose parent is a member of ALET wins the Debbie Rice Memorial Scholarship, they will no longer be eligible for the ALET Member Scholarship as well. 

  • Winner of the Debbie Rice Memorial Scholarship is competitive based on our scoring rubric.

  • Winner of the ALET Member Scholarship will be determined by a random drawing of all high school and college students meeting the requirements. Only one scholarship will be awarded.

2024 Scholarship
2024 DRM Scholarship Winner


Isabelle Priest of Decatur City Schools is the 2024 Debbie Rice Memorial Scholarship winner. Isabelle plans to attend Auburn University and pursue a B.S. in Nutrition, Biomedical Engineering, or Chemistry and a doctorate in Pharmacy. 
 
2024 ALET Member Scholarship Winner


Matthew Phillips, son of ALET member Bryan Phillips, will receive ALET's new Member $5,000 Scholarship. Matthew is a graduate of Spain Park High School/Hoover City Schools. He also plans to attend Auburn University to earn a degree in Chemical Engineering.
